Free DVD
Prospective students are invited to request a free DVD produced by Samurai-Arts. The DVD begins with a short interview and demonstration on the "Pacific Beat Street" TV program. The producers were kind enough to provide all of the footage taken on the day and we have also included some that did not make it to the program in the DVD. Lastly, an overview of uniforms, mats and weapons supplied by Action Martial Arts Supplies is included to enable students to understand martial arts products in more depth before making an investment.

This website is dedicated to practical martial arts training. Specifically to training in Self-Defence, Ju-Jutsu, Ken-Jutsu, Bo-Jutsu and other Traditional Japanese Budo.

Samurai-Arts Objective:

Samurai Arts is a New Zealand based organisation dedicated to promotion of Traditional Japanese Martial Arts, including the principles and values that accompany them.

Background

Chief instructor, Sensei Dave Butler has been studying and teaching martial arts for 40 years and is one of the most experienced instructors in New Zealand. He is assisted by long term students who have become accomplished instructors in their own right. For more detail please see our "About Us" page.

Benefits

Properly taught, Japanese Bu-Jutsu (martial arts) provide students with a host of benefits that include:

·               Self defence training

·         Comradeship, Friendship, Teamwork

·         Confidence

·         Mental and Physical challenge

·         A structured fitness and health programme

·         Fun and motivation with discipline and safety

·         Insights into history and culture of a feudal empire

·         All regardless of age and gender

There are very few activities that offer a complete range of positive benefits at such a modest cost.

Usually students begin with self-defence as their prime motivation, but soon find that the other benefits are equally, if not more important. They continue because they enjoy what they do.

We look forward to starting you on a journey in traditional martial arts.
